From the winemaker:
The 2013 growing season in the Carneros offered near-perfect conditions for producing high quality Chardonnay. The weather was fairly mild all summer with few heat spikes. Warm and dry weather allowed harvest to begin mid-September. Grape crop quality was beautiful, resulting in developing optimal wine flavors.
This vintage exemplifies the style of wine we try to achieve at SOLITUDE. Layers of oak complement the tropical fruit flavors of the Carneros appellation. Our wine is dry, full and very rich but retains refreshing acidity to keep the wine well balanced. Traditional Burgundian techniques of barrel fermentation, weekly lees stirring and secondary malo-lactic fermentation increase complexity and richness. The wine drinks beautifully in its youth and will gain aromatic and flavor complexity with additional age
