Altano Organic Red is a well-balanced, medium to full bodied wine, with a lingering finish. Ruby coloured, it has strong aromas of ripe red fruits, flowers, and spices.
Made exclusively from organically grown grapes from the Symington family’s Quinta de Ataíde vineyards, in the remote Vilariça Valley (located in the far north-eastern corner of the Douro Demarcated Region, close to the Spanish border) where, hot, dry summers alternate with very cold winters. The age of the vines ranges from 25 to 30 years and the vineyards obtained full organic certification in 2010. A blendo of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca.
